Our software runs on Mac OS X version 10.3.4 and above, or any version of Mac OS X 10.4. Java is part of those versions of Mac OS, and no additional software is necessary. Unfortunately there is no way to install an appropriate version of Java on prior Mac OS versions.

I am a newcomer to Forex, and (obviously) to the RTFX
trading platform but I have noticed one thing about using a Mac to work the platform: When you enter the trading platform from the website, you get a client.jnlp XML file which downloads to ~/Library/Caches/TemporaryItems Aliasing this file, and double-clicking it to commence a session of trading can result in a less than perfect experience, with erratic behaviour of the platform. I have, to date, found it advantageous to trash the XML file in the TemporaryItems cache and re-enter from the website for each session. Maybe this behaviour isn't displayed when using a live account, I just don't know yet. But it's worth noting. (Or, maybe, it's just my groaning old Mac playing silly bu**ers !) - Chris |
