The ADP survey, carried out by Macroeconomic Advisers, is published usually on Wednesdays at 08.15 New York time (14:15 CET) two days before the official statistics of the labor market. The official employment report is expected every first Friday of each month at 08:30 New York time, at 14.30 CET.
The ADP or “Automatic Data Processing” National Employment Report is a measure of nonfarm private employment, based on a subset of aggregated and anonymous payroll data that represents approximately 400,000 of ADP's 500,000 U.S. business clients and roughly 24 million employees working in all 19 of the largest industrial companies in North America. The ADP National Employment Report was developed to help meet estimates of short-term movements in the labor market among economists, financial professionals, and government policy-makers. Due to the fact that ADP pays 1-in-6 private sector employees in the United States, it has a unique and significant perspective on the U.S. labor market.
