Dollar slips lower, waiting for the rate decision from the Fed and ECB
The US currency has strengthen as signs of economic slowdown reached further globally and investors selling other major currencies. Gaining ground on Friday after the better than unexpected non-farm payroll, the Dollar slipped slightly against Euros with the rise of oil prices. Dollar is now trading in range 1.5564-1.5600.
Most people are awaiting the interest rate decision from the Fed on Tuesday and from the European Central Bank on Thursday. See our Weekly Economic Indicator. The ECB raised the rates 25 basis points to 4.25 percent in July and with the ongoing inflation all eyes will be on President Jean-Claude Trichet’s post meeting statements risks.
