Germany: IFO business climate index 82.6 in February.
The business climate in Germany has slightly deteriorated in February. The Ifo index, based on a survey of 7'000 German companies, has shown a decrease to 82.6 in February against 83.0 in January. The current conditions index also declined to 84.3 in February against 86.8 in January. The expectations index is up against to 80.9 in February against 79.4 in January. Little reaction to this figure, the business climate is still under pressure, while expectations are improving. As the gap between current conditions number (84.3) compared to expectations number (80,9) has narrowed further in february, it could significate further improve in the business cycle.
