Lower rates in Europe expected from the ECB 5 March meeting.
Speculation of a rate cut by the European Central Bank taking over, a rate cut of 50 basis point of the euro area being 2% at their next meeting on 5 March is expected.
Novotny said the ECB intends to resort to unconventional measures, which could be implemented to ease tensions in financial markets. My opinion is that the ECB already considering other measures to revive the economy, it can be deduced that the ECB will lower its rate to 1% by April 2009. The euro should be under pressure in March. 1.2450-1.2500 area should be tested, the area of resistance is at 1.2850-1.2900.
