EU leaders agreed on a grant of Euros 75 billion in new loans to the IMF. This comes as part of a G20 effort to boost the institution's power in combating global recession. It was also agreed to a two-day summit to double a crisis fund for struggling EU member states to Euros 50 billion. Latvia and Hungary have already made use of such funds while Romania is expected to seek help.
