Realtime Forex SA Press Release, Geneva 27th February 2009
In order to comply with the FINMA’s (Swiss Federal Financial Market Supervisory Authority) new regulations on financial intermediaries in Switzerland, Realtime Forex SA, the pioneer in foreign exchange trading in Europe and the first in Switzerland since February 2000, has decided to split its core business into two distinct and separate entities. The technology development business will remain in Geneva with no change in current staff and will continue to work on developing the trading platform, ensuring that it remains a world class product. The brokerage service will be re-located within the European Union from the 30th of March 2009, head quartered in Malta, and will be regulated by the MFSA. (Malta Financial Services Authority). These changes will have no impact on current trading conditions. For our clients, the change of jurisdiction is extremely advantageous. The new entity, called RTFX Limited will be offering new products such as CFD’s on stocks and commodities in addition to the current offering on FX and the re-activation of precious metal transactions. This transfer will allow our clients to benefit from a greater security. Funds held with RTFX will be safer than ever. As an EU regulated company RTFX will hold client funds in a segregated account, and will also be subject to the EU’s capital adequacy regulations. Contrary to banks active in Switzerland, and as an EU regulated company, RTFX will be in a position to market its services throughout the European community. This change in jurisdiction will also enable RTFX to grow its physical presence in Europe. RTFX has the intention to open more representative offices in the coming months. These openings will enable RTFX to be even closer to their client base and to increase participation at European financial trade fairs and host additional educational seminars. This expansion opens new horizons to our employees, providing them with new challenges and opportunities and we are excited by the prospect and confident that this structure will provide an even better and more secure trading experience.
